1st Mariner Bank First Access Contest: Official Rules

1. Sponsor:

2. Eligible Participants:
Participation is limited to legal residents of Maryland and Pennsylvania, age 18 to 25 as of the date of entry.  Officers, directors, employees and their families of 1st Mariner Bank, its parent company and its affiliates are not eligible to participate.

3. How to Enter:

  • A link to the contest will be on the First Access microsite.  
    • Contest prospects must click on the link.
    • Fill in first and last name, phone number, address, date of birth and email address.
    • Either A) Tell us about how you celebrated your graduation, B) Upload a picture of how you celebrated your graduation, C) Both, option A and B.
    • Click the “Submit” icon to be entered into a random drawing.
  • Individuals may enter the giveaway sweepstakes by sending a 3 x 5 postcard or letter that includes either A) A recap of how you celebrated your graduation, B) A picture of how you celebrated your graduation, C) Both, option A and B.  Entry must include their first and last name, phone number, address, date of birth and email address. Mailings must be mailed to:

  • No purchase or transaction is required to participate in the 1st Mariner First Access Contest.
  • A purchase or transaction will not improve your chances of winning.
  • Limit one entry per person.
  • 1st Mariner Bank is not responsible for lost, misdirected or late delivery.
  • Illegible or incomplete entries will be discarded and ineligible.
  • 1st Mariner Bank First Access Contest Official Rules will also be available within the branches.  Branches will have access to the First Access microsite and will be able to download (PDF) and present a copy upon request.         

4. Drawing:

  • A random drawing will be held every 3 months, on the first Monday of each month.  Drawing dates are as follows: 7/6/09, 10/5/09, 1/4/10, 4/5/10.
  • One winner will be selected every 3 months.
  • Total number of drawings: 4
  • Total number of winners: 4
  • To be eligible, all electronic entries must be received prior to or on the last Friday of the month preceding the drawing date.  Entries that are mailed must be received by 5 pm eastern standard time on the last Friday of the month preceding the drawing date.

5. Prizes:
Each winner will receive a $250 cashiers check.

6. General Terms:
Contest void where prohibited or restricted by law.
Federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the prize winner.
Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state (MD) and local laws and regulations.  No substitutions of prizes are permitted except at the sole discretion of 1st Mariner Bank.  By entering, contestants agree to abide by these official rules and the decisions of 1st Mariner Bank regarding all aspects of this promotion, which are final and binding. 1st Mariner Bank is not responsible for errors in any promotion-related materials. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission for 1st Mariner Bank to use the winners' names and likenesses for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.  1st Mariner Bank will retain all submitted contest material.  By entering, contestants release and hold harmless 1st Mariner Bank, its parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers and employees and agents from all liability or any injuries of any kind arising from or in connection with participation in this promotion or acceptance or use of any prize. 1st Mariner Bank reserves the right to suspend, cancel or modify this promotion if fraud or any other causes beyond its control affects the integrity or fairness of the promotion, as determined by 1st Mariner Bank.

7. Odds of Winning:
The odds of winning are determined by the total number of participants and the date of contest entry.

8. Redemption:
Each contest winner will receive a phone call and email notification.  Winners may pick up their prize, a $250 cashiers check, at the 1st Mariner branch of their choice or, upon request, have the prized mailed to the address provided by contestant.  If winner elects to pick up prize from a 1st Mariner Bank branch, the winner will have his/ her photograph taken for promotional purposes.      

1st Mariner Bank will put forth every effort to reach the winner within 7 calendar days of the drawing.  Prize must be claimed by 5 p.m. Eastern Standard time on the 7th calendar day following the drawing by picking up prize or informing 1st  Mariner Bank to mail such prize to winner’s address.  In the event the winner fails to claim the prize within the 7 day redemption period, 1st Mariner Bank will randomly select another winner.
